The Jalsa Ghar restaurant first opened its doors in October 1998 and aims to combine traditional Indian and Bangladeshi dishes with many other dishes never before served in Indian restaurants in Essex.

Our main objective is to provide modern food of the highest quality using only the freshest and finest ingredients to the highest standards.

All our food is cooked with natural herbs and spices and we use only low cholesterol sunflower oil in our dishes. We are proud to say that we use the minimum amount of food colouring in our dishes.

We are confident that you will enjoy the great food that we have to offer and the first class service that goes with it. In addition to the great food, why not have a drink in the Queen Victoria public house, which has a large selection of beers and ales to choose from - and it's all under one roof!

After all, "Jalsa Ghar" literally means "house of entertainment" in Bengali, so come and let us look after you.
